Donation Information

How to help

Although we would like for everyone who visits our website to adopt one of our dogs, we realize that sometimes that is not possible. There are many other ways for you to support our work, though.

Volunteer

If you have time to give, please consider becoming a volunteer. Our wonderful volunteers help in so many ways. For more information, visit our Volunteer page.

Fundraising

Host a small fundraiser in your home to benefit Healing Hearts. Any fundraising effort, no matter how small, helps our animals. Pampered Chef, Gold Canyon Candles, Silpada Designs, and other home parties are great ways to have fun and raise money for Healing Hearts at the same time.

Collect Donations of Goods

This is especially appropriate for scouting troops and other small groups. Organize a donation drive, and deliver the items to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group. To see what we need, visit our Wish List.

Go Shopping

Shop online? Shop through iGive.com, and a percentage of your purchases come directly to Healing Hearts! iGive.com makes helping Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group free and automatic. The iGive.com Button is a simple browser app. It tells stores that you want a percentage of every purchase you make donated to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group, at no cost to you. Over 1000 stores are listed with iGive.com, and over $6,500,000 has been donated, to multiple organizations cross the country, because iGive.com members bought things they needed at the stores they like.

Estate Planning

A bequest to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group through your Will or Trust helps ensure that we can continue to carry out our mission to rescue abandoned animals and place them in safe, loving and permanent homes.

By remembering Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group in your estate planning, you can leave a legacy that will benefit future generations of animals and help provide for our future work. The federal government encourages these gifts or bequests, by allowing an unlimited estate tax charitable deduction.

There are various methods for making such a bequest:

A specific bequest allows you to leave a specified gift in the form of a cash distribution. To make such a bequest, use the following language: “I give, devise and bequeath to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group, 14120A Lee Highway, P.O. Box 2283, Centreville, VA, 20122, the sum of (insert amount) to be used for its general purposes.”

A residuary bequest allows you to leave a “remainder” of a percentage of your estate to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group. To make a residuary use the following language: “I give, devise and bequeath to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group, 14120A Lee Highway, P.O. Box 2283, Centreville, VA, 20122, all (insert percentage amount) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, to be used for its general purposes.”

A contingency bequest allows you to make a gift contingent on certain circumstances. To make a contingency bequest use the following language: “If any of the above-named beneficiaries should predecease me, I hereby bequeath his or her share to Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group, 14120A Lee Highway, P.O. Box 2283, Centreville, VA, 20122, to be used for its general purposes.”

If you already have a Will, you can use the suggested wording to write a codicil (an addendum) that names Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group a beneficiary of your estate.
